Introduction
Lea & Garsdon Church of England Primary School is situated on the edge of the village of Lea serving the parishes of Lea, Garsdon, Charlton and Cleverton. Children from the outlying villages are brought to school by bus. There are approximately 108 children attending the school at present. The original Victorian building now houses the hall, offices and scullery. The rest of the building is modern and purpose-built consisting of fourclasses in well equipped classrooms, a mobile classroom, a small library and practical activity areas. Outside there are two playgrounds, a wildlife garden and large football/games field. We have worked hard over the last few years to improve our facilities. At the present time the classes are organised into five groups. The class size in this kind of school has to be flexible as the number of children in each year group varies considerably from year to year. Some of the classes are organised in mixed ages where two school years are taught together. It is our policy to ensure that the reception class is kept as small as possible to enable the children to get the best start. You can see our full list of staff members here. The School Day Our current school day timings are as follows:
There is a usually a daily act of collective worship but due to Covid-19, this is currently not taking place. |
