About our School
Introduction
Lea & Garsdon Church of England Primary School is situated on the edge of the village of Lea serving the parishes of Lea, Garsdon, Charlton and Cleverton. Children from the Malmesbury area are brought to school by bus. There are 145 children attending the school at present (September 2024.)
The original Victorian building now houses the library, staff room and ancillary spaces. The rest of the attached building is the KS2 area, with 4 classrooms (only three are being occupied at the moment) and office areas. The new KS1 block was opened in September 2022 and houses the new hall, kitchen, three classrooms and a SENco room. Outside there are two playgrounds, one for each keystage but at lunchtime, the children are brought together for their outdoor play. There is a wonderful sensory garden for quiet times and a large football/games field beyond the new KS1 building.
At the present time, the school has six classes. We have a mixed year 5 and year 6 class, but all others are single year groups, which allows room for growth over the coming months. Ultimately, we will have seven classrooms to accommodate 210 pupils.
