PTFA

Parent Teacher Friends Association - PTFA

The Parent Teacher Association is a wonderfully supportive group, which organises a range of social, practical and fund-raising events throughout the year.  In recent years, the PTA has provided the school with new laptops and interactive smartboards, additional music equipment, library books and developed our outside play and garden areas.

All parents are automatic members of the PTA, and all are welcome to play an active part in running the events.  Typically, these include children's disco's, film nights, a Christmas Fair, Summer Fair and many more events.

Donations:

Our normal fundraising opportunities are really restricted this year and we understand that there are various financial struggles right now but please do consider whether you could make a donation to the PTFA in lieu of the money you would have spent at events. You can also restrict your funding to key areas such as the Hardship Fund that provides discrete opportunities for those pupils in financial difficulty, such as swimming or music lessons. We hope that you agree that this is a really important area of PTA expenditure that needs to continue during these challenging times.

You can donate directly to the PTFA as follows:

  • BACS to Lea and Garsdon School Association - Sort Code: 30-91-99,   Acc No: 02183913
  • Cheque payable to "Lea & Garsdon School Association" (delivered to the school office)

We would ask for your support to claim a further 25% Gift Aid by providing written confirmation of:

  • your home address,
  • that you are a UK tax payer,
  • you are making the gift personally and
  • consent to Gift Aid

Please include any stipulations here (e.g. for hardship fund) and whether you consent to publicity (within school only).

Recycling:

We continue to support the following recycling:

  • Bag2School clothing collection (3 to 4 per school year - funds to PTA)
  • Inkjet printer cartridges - collection box in office
  • Pens - collection box in office
  • Batteries - collection box in office

We are really keen to support Lea & Garsdon as an Eco-School and it's an important source of funding.

Easy Fundraising:

If you will be using the internet to shop over the coming months, please think about buying through the Easyfundraising website: Easy Fundraising   The school has an Easyfundraising account and using it to make your online purchases is a great way to raise money for the school and you can shop online with loads of well known retailers.  When you make a purchase, use the links provided on the Easyfundraising website first Easy Fundraising and up to 15% of the price will be donated to school.
